Matera has been continuously occupied for over 5\,000 years and resembles a medieval film set. We sketch cave houses and explore this ancient city during “blue hour” – sketching in the evening against a backdrop of golden lights.\nThen it is on to the other coast of Italy’s Boot to the quiet splendour of Acquafredda and our lovely villa – better by far than the Amalfi Coast up the road. \nWe spend 4 blissful relaxing nights here before our final destination in Pompeii. This is gives us enough time to really explore and sketch in depth the flavours and history of this wonderful and ancient part of Italy. \nIan gives daily demos and workshops – AND as a real treat – everyone gets to keep one of his drawings as a souvenir of their trip! \n \nWe cater for people who love history\, food\, culture and learning a creative skill – or just like to explore new places in a fun group. Each afternoon is free for you to amble\, explore\, climb\, read\, shop\, paint\, cook – whatever you’d like to do as we offer so many suggestions.
